What an incredible experience! Vittorio, a professional sommelier, guided us on a Chianti wine tour that was both informative and unforgettable. We visited three remarkable locations, starting with a 1500s castle in the Chianti region. After exploring the castle and its cellars, we enjoyed a private wine tasting in a beautiful room with a large fireplace, wooden shutters, and antique furniture. Vittorio served each wine individually, explaining the art of tasting and the unique characteristics of the vineyard’s wines. Next, we visited a recently restored hilltop castle, followed by a delicious lunch in the Tuscan countryside. The final stop was at the villa of Marquesa Donatella Gondi, a family estate dating back to the Renaissance. Together with Vittorio, we tasted wines in the villa’s historic hunting room while learning fascinating stories about the family’s history in Florence. This tour offers an intimate, authentic, and immersive wine tasting experience in Tuscany. It is not your everyday tour and is highly recommended for anyone visiting Florence who wants to explore Chianti wines, historic castles, and Tuscan culture.
