How does the truffle hunt actually work?
A trained dog (traditionally a Lagotto Romagnolo) sniffs out the truffle's scent underground. The hunter shows you where to dig carefully, and you'll see and smell a fresh truffle the moment it comes out of the ground.
Will I be sharing the tour with other travelers?
Yes — this is a small-group tour with a maximum of 8 participants, typically a mix of couples, friends and solo travelers. It is a good option if you would rather not book an entire private vehicle.
What should we wear for the truffle hunt?
Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting muddy, plus closed shoes — the truffle hunter provides rubber boots if the woodland is damp.

I know when traveling there are options when selecting a tour to make sure you are making the best use of your time and budget. I can wholeheartedly say that this is a tour that should not be missed, especially since it is paired with a tour of a local winery which other tours do not normally include. We were first picked up by the guide in Florence and then drive . It is a full day of exploring a beautiful section of Tuscany hunting with the truffle dog and the thrill of finding one of these nuggets is very exciting. You then share a meal utilizing local truffles which is a great experience. You complete the tour at a local winery with a winery tour and tasting. This entire day was very special and was only made better thanks to the knowledge and personality of our guide Giuseppi, who was fantastic. I definitely recommend this tour and this team.
