An Experienced and Passionate Team of Wine Lovers

Born in Florence in 1962, Vittorio's first encounter with the world of wine came through the Professional Sommelier Course in Florence. After earning his AIS Italian Sommelier certification, he worked as a publisher at Demomedia, writing wine guidebooks, building a background in wine tasting and food and wine journalism. His deep knowledge of wine and vast network of wineries — from world-renowned producers to small, family-run boutique estates — grew through years of travel across Italy, including Chianti and Tuscany. This passion led him to found the Florence Wine Academy, and then Italy and Wine, where he has been crafting and leading exclusive wine tours since 2004.

Andrea's path started in restaurants and hotels across Italy and the UK, where he learned that great hospitality starts with treating people as guests, not customers. Sommelier courses (WSET) and a background as an agricultural technician later brought him closer to the vineyard itself.

Half-Italian, half-Austrian, Matteo is a certified sommelier with a strong passion for wine, food and travel. Fluent in four languages, he has worked in Australia and France at some of the region's finest Châteaux before returning to Florence, where he now passionately guides Italy and Wine's tours all over Italy.

Niccolo Tagliaferri is one of Italy and Wine's long-standing guides, a passionate sommelier based in Florence. Young and promising, he joined us to share his knowledge and love of wine. Today, he guides our guests through Tuscany on authentic wine-tasting tours.

Mario is a certified Italian Sommelier (AIS) and Master Cheese Taster (ONAF), with a degree in the Science of Food Production from the University of Bologna. A native of Milan, he has lived in Veneto for 35 years. He is an experienced wine educator, regularly leading wine tasting seminars for the U.S. diplomatic corps in Italy, and has lectured on Italian wine and food for Boston University students studying in Padova. He specializes in the wine and food of Veneto, Friuli, and Trentino Alto-Adige.

I am the Operations and Finance Manager at Italy and Wine. I manage bookings, coordinate with wineries and local guides, and oversee the day-to-day organization of our tours. I also handle supplier payments and maintain relationships with our banks. I hold a degree in Economics and Business.
