What should we wear for the truffle hunt?
Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting muddy, plus closed shoes — the truffle hunter provides rubber boots if the woodland is damp.
What time of year is best for truffle hunting?
San Miniato is famous for white truffles found from September to December, though smaller varieties (bianchetto, black summer truffle) are hunted at other times of year — so a hunt is possible almost year-round.
Do we get to keep the truffles we find?
Truffles found during the hunt are the hunter's livelihood and aren't included in the price, but you'll taste plenty during the meal that follows, and can usually buy more at the market stalls.

Our truffle hunting experience with Francesca and Vittorio was truly unforgettable! The scenic drive to the property took less than an hour. Despite the rain the night before, we were able to find a few truffles during the hunt, thanks to the expert dogs of our guide Francesca. The property was breathtaking, offering a serene and picturesque backdrop for our tour. Afterward, we enjoyed an amazing lunch and wine.
