What's the difference between Chianti Classico and a Super Tuscan?
Chianti Classico must follow strict DOCG rules based mainly on Sangiovese, while Super Tuscans are made outside those rules — often blending in Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot — giving winemakers more freedom to experiment with style.
Will I be sharing the tour with other travelers?
Yes — this is a small-group tour with a maximum of 8 participants, typically a mix of couples, friends and solo travelers. It is a good option if you would rather not book an entire private vehicle.
Is tipping expected?
Tipping is not included and is entirely at your discretion. Many guests tip their driver-guide directly at the end of the day if they enjoyed the experience, but there is no fixed expectation or amount.

Our day exploring Tuscany’s wine country with Andrea was a real pleasure. Visiting independent, family-run estates gave the experience a welcoming and personal feel, while each stop offered a different perspective on local winemaking. We had an amazing time with our host Giovanni. He was incredibly knowledgeable of the Chianti region, as well as an in depth knowledge of many wine regions throughout the world. He described the process and evolution of wine making over time, and described the many microclimates that effect the region. We went to three very different wineries -all amazing in their own way, and enjoyed a lovely meal together. There was no shortage of conversation, and the time was very well spent. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in sampling some of this regions fine wines. Thank you! ??????????

Best day of my Italy trip. We went to 3 different wineries each with their own distinct feel and speciality. The wine and food was amazing. Our tour guide Niccolo was the best. As an aspiring sommelier and local, he brought additional context and insights that made the trip so much better. He was more knowledgeable about wine than the staff at the wineries. Awesome day.

Booking a tour online is always a risk, so when we saw our young tour guide Niccolo, our first thought was that he couldn’t possibly have much knowledge- but boy were we wrong! Not only was he cute and gracious, he possessed a wealth of information about wine and could answer any questions. He had actually worked at a winery and was studying to become a sommelier. The wineries we visited were all great and the lunch was wonderful - to say the owner was entertaining is an understatement. It was a great day.
