It is hard to put into words how much my wife and I enjoyed our truffle and wine tour this past August. Raffaella and Francesca (and her family) made us feel like we were part of their family. The whole experience was so unique (especially the truffle hunting part of it). People that enjoy this kind of thing usually go to wineries - but going truffle hunting with "Choco" (their incredible truffle hunting dog) and a true truffle specialist (Francesca) was a whole other level. During our trek, Francesca taught us so much about the region, their wines, and their way of life. It was incredible. The meal they prepared for us was next-level cooking and the truffle portions, as well as wine pours, were really really generous!! We had lunch at their beautiful family home, at their table. They even sat with us at times and even brought a cake and sang happy birthday to my wife. They were incredibly kind to us. We ended our visit at a nearby winery ("Fattoria San Michele a Torri"). The people there were terrific again, and they taught us a lot about their wines and wine in general. Once again, it is hard to explain how unique this experience was and I would strongly recommend it to anyone that can appreciate the Italian culture.

Matteo is extremely friendly and knowledgable on wines so if you are a wine lover, you will learn a lot and enjoy very much. Its a long drive from Florence so I would suggest staying closer to Bolgheri but none the less it was a great experience

An extraordinary day from start to finish. We began at a working farm just outside San Miniato that produces its own Chianti, pecorino, olive oil, honey and truffles — everything grown or made right there. Francesca, the truffle hunter, took us out with her dog Choco to search the woods, and she turned out to be as wonderful a host and cook as she is a hunter. Lunch was a home-cooked truffle feast — fresh appetizers, truffle pasta, and dessert — paired with wines straight from the estate, poured generously by our guide Vittorio, who assured us that in Italy wine is treated like water. We talked at length about Italian history and politics over the meal. Afterward we wandered the quiet medieval center of San Miniato before finishing at a second winery, where Vittorio walked us through the different styles of Chianti and how to taste them properly. A genuinely unique day and worth every penny — we'd recommend it without hesitation.

Giovanni picked us up from our hotel and was warm and enthusiastic from the very start, sharing the history of the region and its wines with real knowledge. When our schedule ran a little long he stayed patient and even made an extra stop on the way back so we could take in a view of Florence, since he knew we wouldn't have much more time in the city. His passion for what he does really came through, and he turned our honeymoon day into something we'll always remember.

Vittorio guided our Bolgheri day and made it both fun and genuinely informative — we stopped at the family-run Chiappini estate and later at Guado al Tasso, and even though we already knew a fair amount about Super Tuscans going in, we still came away having learned plenty. The standout was lunch at the Sassicaia estate, where we got to taste their wine side by side with what we'd tried earlier in the day. Vittorio was a wonderful host and made the whole day memorable.

There were five of us, and Matteo made the whole day feel personal — genuinely interested in the group, and clearly well-liked by the truffle hunters and winery hosts alike. As a trained sommelier he had answers for every question we threw at him. The truffle farm is a good hour outside Florence, so settle in for the drive, but the experience itself is wonderfully authentic: just you, a local woman, and her dog working through the woods behind her house. Lunch afterward was excellent, and the winery that followed didn't disappoint either. Matteo was a fantastic ambassador for the country — we'd book this again without hesitation.

Memorable Tour in Bolgheri! We were picked up promptly at our cruise ship in Livorno and wished to the Bolgheri area of Tuscany. Our guide did an excellent job to giving us the history of the area and viticultural how it differs from the rest of Tuscany. We stopped at Ornellaia, Osteria San Guido Enoteca that serves as a tasting venue for Sassicaia and at and a small winery Guado de Gemoli. Ornellia was the highlight since the property is so beautiful and the wines so delicious (not unlike Peter Michael Winery in Napa Valley). The mean at Osteria San Guido Enoteca was really first class as were the Sassicaia wines we tasted. The tour took about four hours and we were taken back to our ship in plenty time. Memorable Wine Tour of Bolgheri! I recommend it and our guide to anyone who wants to see a great area of Tuscany!

A wonderful day moving between wineries of every size — small, family-run estates alongside larger, more established ones — with Vittorio as our guide throughout. We tasted Chianti Classico, Riserva and Super Tuscan wines, paired with cheeses, cured meats, bruschetta and homemade olive oil. The smaller winery was the highlight: an intimate visit with the farmer himself, followed by a long lunch of pizza, pasta and dessert overlooking the vineyard. Door-to-door pickup and drop-off meant we could just relax and enjoy the scenery, and Vittorio was happy to stop along the way for photos of the Tuscan countryside. This tour was the highlight of our whole trip to Italy — simply fantastic.

Our family was looking for a wine tour that could accommodate 9 people — most companies cap their groups at 8 — and also include some white wines alongside the famous Tuscan reds. Italy and Wine were incredibly flexible and attentive to our requests. Our guide, Ingrid, was excellent, sharing fascinating insights about the history and culture of San Gimignano. We loved exploring the medieval town as much as we enjoyed the vineyards and wines. The first winery served an amazing lunch that just kept coming — each course thoughtfully paired with a different wine, making it a true culinary experience. Overall, this tour exceeded our expectations. It was educational, fun, and a highlight of our trip. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tuscany, whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast or just starting to explore!
