Venice wine tour

We suggest a guided tour in a small group with other wine enthusiasts (groups are no more than 6 people) and you will be escorted on a full day excursion to the Euganei Hills region, a vulcanic area that has been famous for its wine since the ancient Roman Empire, and that was the private “vineyard” of the “Serenissima Republic of Venice”.

Your scenic drive will take you through the vineyards, in the hills that are surrounded by numerous Venetian villas. During this excursion you will have 2 tastings in the best cantinas of the area and a light lunch at a typical restaurant.

Today the Euganei hills are well known in the world for its wines (13 DOC) which include the warm Colli Euganei Rosso, classic Colli Euganei White, full-flavored Cabernet Franc, robust Cabernet Sauvignon, elegant Merlot, noble Pinot Bianco, sparkling Serprino, pleasing Moscato and finishing with the citrousy Fior d’Arancio. You will learn about the viticulture and winemaking processes of this famous area located only a 30 minute drive from Venice. Check scheduled days !

This is the program for the day

• 10.00 a.m. Departure from Venice (Piazzale Roma).
• 10.45 a.m. Arrival at Arquà Petrarca and visit the first winery and wine tasting.
• 01.00 p.m. Light lunch at a Local restaurant.
• 02.30 p.m. Scenic drive through the hills where you can see the different type of vineyard.
• 03.00 p.m. We stop at the second winery for visiting and wine tasting.
• 04.30 p.m. Return to Venice, Piazzale Roma
• 05.00 p.m. End of the trip.

(Wineries are only suggested, and may be substituted at anytime based on group size and tastingroom availability.)
