My husband and I did a wine tour with Vittorio and we loved every part of it! Vittorio is so friendly and knowledagle. We didn't know a lot about wine but we felt comfortable and really enjoyed both the vineyards we went to. We ended up buying a bottle from each place and they tasted great at home too. I would definitely recommend this experience, as a way to learn more about wine, but also a wonderful way to experience Florence and the Tuscany countryside. It was beautiful.

Our day trip to the Chianti region just outside Florence was a memorable experience. Vittorio was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable, and we learned a lot from our conversations about wine and the region we were in. There were four in my family, and another couple. Our group visited 2 wineries...and were impressed with the way they manufacture wine, and olive oil. We had lunch at a local restaurant that happen to be one of the better meals on our trip. Vittorio answered all our questions. The wines we tasted...Chianti, Chianti Classico, and the Super Tuscan, were very good. It was fun to take a day off from all the sightseeing that Italy offers...and enjoy some wine, food, and the beauty of the Chianti region.

I am an inherently cheap person. I don't like spending a lot of money for, well, anything, but when my husband and I planned our trip to Italy, we decided to book this trip. The prices, compared to other tours, were totally reasonable, but I kept doing the math in my head and thinking "this is going to have to be a WHOLE lot of fun to make it worth it". We got to halfway through the day when my husband and I looked at each other and said "this is some of the best vacation money we've ever spent". By the end of the day I was practically giddy at having gotten so much value for the money we spent.
We went on the Chianti tour with Vittorio as our guide. Vittorio was so kind, knowledgeable, and personable. He went out of his way to really make the experience special, as opposed to feeling like you're just a head of cattle to be shuffled from one place to another. He took his time with everything, was serious about what he was telling us, but was also happy to laugh along with us. The two wineries we visited were spectacular. The guide at each one was absolutely wonderful; funny and friendly and authentic. The wines were to die for. Seeing the countryside with a knowledgeable guide was surreal. The lunch we had was in my top 5 meals I've ever eaten in my entire life, and my husband agrees.
What we knew about wines coming into this tour wouldn't fill, well, a wine glass, and not once did anyone ever exhibit even the tiniest bit of snobbery. We left with a whole new appreciation of wine (and a very expensive new habit that reminds us of our trip every time we indulge). I can't recommend this tour enough- in our 9 days in Italy, this was absolutely one of the highlights. It was worth every penny, and if we ever go back to Florence, a day with Vittorio will be tops on our list of things to do.
Thanks again, Vittorio, for an absolutely wonderful day.
