The most famous of all Tuscan wines is Chianti, a red wine produced in the Chianti region. Chianti is made from the Sangiovese grape, which has elements of summer fruit and spices, and varies greatly in quality. There is a distinction between Chianti and Chianti Classico – wines from the latter being produced in a region known for producing ‘Chianti’ prior to the new 1932 classification. It is often felt that these wines are of a higher standard.
We suggest a guided tour in a mixed group with other wine enthusiasts and you can be guided in a full day excursion to the heart of the Chianti Classico area. Ride through the beautiful hills of Chianti area, visits, light lunch and tastings in 2 best wineries. You have the chance to taste the Docg as well as Igt "supertuscan" wines.

- 09.30 a.m. Departure from Florence.
- 10.30 a.m. Arrival at San Casciano and visit the first winery and wine tasting.
- 01.00 p.m. Light lunch at the local restaurant.
- 02.30 p.m. Driving along the hills where you can see the different type of vineyard.
- 03.00 p.m. Stop at the second winery for visiting and wine tasting.
- 04.30 p.m. Return to Florence at approx. 5 p.m.

Our tour with Vittorio was the best and most educational wine tour I have ever taken!! He was knowledgeable regarding every aspect of wine making and eager to share it with us. He spoke on a level that I could understand and learn from. The wineries we visited were beautiful and the winemakers welcomed us graciously. All spoke good English which we appreciated. The wine was great, our lunch was fabulous and Vittorio's company was enjoyable. I promise if you take a tour with this Sommelier , he will measure up to your expectations and more. Additionally, I found the wine tours with "Italy and Wine" to be affordable compared to others we researched. Looking forward to making the trip again and we will be certain to tour with Vittorio.
