The tour is composed of a visit to
a spice producer with a spice lesson and a spice tasting with cheese
and wine.
Our
tour will not be on the old way of spices, but on a Tuscan street
that will bring us into a magic world, between gentle hills, quiet
country and a friendly sweet home.
Pierre, our French friend, or "herbs shepherd"
as he want to be called, will introduce you in the aromatic spice
world through the secrets of the harvest moments, the drying process
and the working. Each plant has secrets, legends and so many properties
. as the sage, from the latin "salus", health, was hold
in consideration from the ancient passed. Was considered so an efficacious
remedy to be named Salvia salvatrix. Still now we use it to flavour
food, to protect clothes from moths, as beauty treatment and for
health: to fight against depression and to soothe asthma.
Or
like the rosemary, from the latin "rosmarinus", sea dew,
that grows everywhere along the Mediterranean and mostly used in
Italian, Spanish, French and Greek cookery. Or
the parsley, used from the Roman Empire. In it's fresh leaves holds
calcium, iron, phosphorus and an elevated contents of A and C vitamins.
5 gr of parsley give you the necessary, daily quantity of A vitamin
30 gr of parsley give you the necessary, daily quantity of C vitamin.
Pierre, as a great magician, draws his inspiration
from everything, as a special sunset, a storm, the wind, to create
extraordinary mixtures that will convey feelings of our land and
love for those simple but precious plants.
After
the lesson, you'll have a final and complete tasting of his magic
herbs with typical cheese and wine. This will be a special friendly
moment and will give you the possibility to understand how to use
herbs to appreciate better the food and the wine. And if you've
