We did a custom group tour. Vittorio picked us up at our hotel in Florence (my wife and I, and our (mid-20s) daughter, son, and son's girlfriend) in his minivan, and took us for an all-day tour that included two Tuscany wineries and lunch. The scenery was beautiful, the wineries gave us red-carpet treatment, and the lunch was delicious. That, together with Vittorio's tutoring on wines and wine-tasting, made it one of the most memorable parts of our time in Italy.

My son realized shortly after Vittorio dropped us off at our hotel that his wallet was missing. He knew he'd had it at the last winery, so he figured it must have fallen out of his pocket in the van. We called Vittorio, and sure enough, he found it on the back seat floor. He drove half hour back to our hotel to return it, and wouldn't accept a tip for his trouble. He's a good guy.

vittorio, who is the owner, made it really easy to make reservations. had to pay from credit card 24hrs prior, no biggy.
we signed up for the "chianti wine tour"
vittorio picked us up from out hotel on 'via faenza' exactly on time. it was in a 6 passenger van if i remember correctly.
he introduced himself and gave us a brochure packet about wine. he then took us to piazza michelangelo and snapped some pics and drove out of the city to
'La Sala' was our first stop.
we went into a little taste testing room and sampled wine/cheese. it was fantastic, hilary was our vintner, she told us about the wine, the vines, the region, italy etc. she was very very friendly and loved listening to her. her and vittorio taught us how to authentically taste/smell/inspect the wine. great knowledge!!! she then led us on a limited tour of the wine cellar/ prodcution area. vittorio told us a little bit about the vines while waiting for tour to begin. we were running a little late and it started to drizzle so we had to cut the 1st vineyard short. i didnt like this, but some things you cant control. it would have been nice to walk around the vineyard more.
then we ate lunch in a nearby town. it was at an 11th century building and had an old wood stove and the chef made great neopolitian pizza. (i have the name of town/restaurant if you want.... cant remember while typing this)
lunch was served with wine from vittorio's choosing and he spoke about it some more.
after lunch we traveled to another vineyard..... once again i cant remember the name of this vineyard... i will get the name and update this post because it is pertinent .
the 2nd vineyard was beautiful. however there was no introduction from the vintner, no history. we just got out of the car and she led us thru the cellar. a little too hasty. after the tour we got to sample some more wine. in a grand room. we got to learn more about choosing wine. very important knowledge that i brought back to states and now i look cool and danty. heheh. we also did not get to tour the vineyard ground much. vittorio took us on a tour of a olive oil building..... again i wish we got to tour the ground more but still the same, enjoyed it. i would have bought more wine at 'La Sala' from hilary if i had known about the selection/wine tasting from 2nd vineyard.
vittorio then drove us right back to our hotel and we parted.
